We are from Iowa, but have visited New York side many times. We stay at lakeside Beach State Park. We love the Erie Canal and many of the little towns a long the canal.

We stayed at the KOA in 2010. Quite satisfactory. It is a few miles to the falls but not so far that it kept us from going several times. Have fun.

Look at Four Mile Creek State Park. Relatively inexpensive and ON Lake Ontario. Lightly used 4 lane hwy. to the falls (15-20 minutes) and goes by Fort Niagara which we found more interesting than the falls.

X3. They have a few 50 amp sites. One note of caution : there are plenty of Canadian Geese there so be careful where you walk

We stayed at the KOA . It is a little distance from the falls but they have shuttles and the park was nice.

The NY side of the falls, however, is disgraceful. We were shocked at how shoddy and filthy it was.

We walked over the bridge and found the Canadian side to be amazing, very clean and well kept with beautiful landscaping and nice walkways along the river. There are also some nice restaurants with views of the falls.

I'll 2nd that and I grew up in the Buffalo area. It was nicer years ago but now it's getting kind of run down and filthy. The Canadian side is a 100% better option if you have your passports.

There is a KOA on Grand Island that we pass off the I-190(On Whitehaven Rd I believe) that looks nice. We've seen some Entegra's parked there so I would think it's not to bad of a place. It's near Fantasy Island amusement park which isn't bad if you like to just walk around and get the small family owned amusement park feel. So that's my couple of nickels worth. Have fun where ever your travels take you.

Just left there today. Highly recommended because of large sites, although there are only electric hookups.

Not only is it cheaper than KOA, but if you stay at 4-Mile Creek SP, you get free parking at any of the parking lots at the state park that surrounds the American Falls. Otherwise, it's $10 per day. If you move to a different lot, it's another $10, but not if you have a car pass from 4-Mile Creek.
