North Houston

I need to stay 3 nights in Houston to attend a conference late October, then will be heading north to Fort Worth for another event. Two years ago we stayed at Fallbrook and it was nice, but getting through Houston to get to it was almost too stressful to repeat.

Two questions:

Anyone stay at Fallbrook recently? The latest post at RV Park Reviews makes me nervous.

And, Is there someplace else on the north side (making it easier to head out) you would personally recommend? Company pays for the taxis to get to and from the conference, so more concerned about the place than the distance.

Thanks!

I've stayed at Rayford Crossing in Spring a couple of times and it's OK for a big rig.

Try Northlake RV Resort. This is northwest of Bush Intercontinental Airport, with decent access to the Hardy Toll Road.We have stayed at a "sister" property south of downtown and it was very nice and well managed. You do not want to drive your rig thru Houston if you can avoid it. I call that "combat driving". Many unlicensed and/or uninsured. Illegals with nothing to lose. We left the area for Central TX.

We have stayed at Corral RV park in Tom Ball. Easy access to the 249 Toll Way and Belt way 8. We will stay there again when We return to the Houston area.

I have stayed at Spring Creek Park several times, which is the only Harris County park with RV sites. Located on Brown Road just west of Hwy 249 on the north side of Tomball. There are 8 level concrete pads with full hookup for the best price ever, FREE. There is a 1 week limit for the stay. They do lock the place up at 10:00pm so if you are out late that may not work. If you are interested you are required to make a reservation. Just call 281-393-8100 to reserve a site. Just lock your RV since the park is open to the public. It is patrolled by the Sheriff's Dept and maintenance people are always working around there. If you stay there, there is no one to check you in. Just go to your assigned site and set up and one of the park people will come by and check on you. There is a restroom and showers right across the street from the RV sites. One more thing. Have extra sewer hose and water hose if necessary as the hookups are at the back of each site. No WIFI or cable but about 50 OTA TV stations. It is about 2 miles from downtown Tomball for easy access to shopping and restaurants.
