I'm looking at Surf City Family Campground at Top Sail, NC. Anyone know of any others on the beach or any opinions about aforementioned campground? Thanks for any info....

We stayed at Lanier' camground and do not recommend it. I don't know anything about Surf City, but if you go would love to know about your stay.

Thanks, I'll sure let you know - also, we found Trave-l Park RV Park at Emerald Isle, N.C. Quite expensive however....all the frills if you have children or grandchildren as we do...we checked out the reveiws and found it to be positive..so that and Surf City Family Campground (somewhat primitive, but beach front and reviews mostly positive) are the only two in that area that are beachfront. We've been to OBX several times but wanted to try this area out also.

I haven’t been to N.C. but have camped several times near Myrtle Beach;
Huntington Beach State Park is my favorite. You don’t see the ocean but it is just a board walk away. Large sites, lots of nature.
Thought I’d hate Apache Family Campground and Pier when we drove in, but was so surprised with the beach view sites. Great beach, friendly staff, sites are small, but they are arranged so we had no trouble getting in or out.
