Oceanside RV campgrounds Maine coast
I would like to ask the groups suggestions for ocean side RV campgrounds along the Maine coast. Where have you camped and what were your favorite camp sites?
Thank you for your replys.

My first CG near the ocean was Camden Hills State Park of which was excellant. The town that it is nearest is Camden, Me. right on the coast and two wonderful towns right on the water that's nearby is Rockland and Rockport. After about a week we moved to Lubec of which was right on the water and it was excellant and the hosts were very helpfull.

Try out The Moorings Oceanfront Campground in Belfast, we have a review on this website with photos, kind of a basic campground type but clean well kept big rig friendly and the views of Penobscot Bay are second to none, it is right on the water not concealed in the woods like some are they also have their own web site with good photos. We have been going there every fall for the past 10 years, its also centrally located to Bar Harbor and Camden.

IN '08, on our way back, from Canada, we stayed in "Well's Beach Resort", located on US Hwy 1, near Well's Beach, ME and only about 1 mile from the water. Very nice CG. Would stay there again, when in the area.

A great place and wonderful sights nearby plus New Brunswick, Canada across the river. If it weren't such a long drive we'd go back this year.

Not that I'm aware of. We were parked next to the very gracious hosts. We had friends parked in the middle courts and we (in our hybrid) parked along the water. Also by pure coincidence another camper arrived for a month's stay. We are all from Virginia Beach. We had 2 dogs. Both frisbee catching fools.
