Thanks, all. Yep, Lori, got your pm - thank you. At the moment, we're leaning towards Barkcamp. For now. I think. We're looking for some hiking, caves, fairly private campsite, and hopefully to be able to walk to the beach. Oh yeah - and a few drinks. Shhh.

No caves at or near Barkcamp (or SF either) & the beach is on the other side of the lake from the campground - no walking to that unless you want a long hike (or a long swim across). The beach at Barkcamp is much smaller than Salt Fork's. Not to sway you....just FYI based on what you're saying you're wanting in a CG.

Not sure why I was assuming caves at those parks. Thanks for pointing that out, Lori. Any suggestions based on what we're looking for? Realize that this thread has veered a bit from its original topic. If this is improper forum etiquette, let me know. thanks.

If you want caves and such. Hocking Hills State park is located about a hour west / southwest of Bark Camp. The state park campground at Hocking Hills is located on top of a ridge. The main caves and ledges area is located near the campground check in station, or about a 15 minute walk from the campsites. There is no beach at Hocking Hills. They do have a pool in the campground and a fishing lake. It is a popular park, so summer reservations should be made now for any weekend stays.....
Here are some pictures from our 09' trip. We'll be going again this June for a week. There is plenty to do for a whole weeks vacation.
The main draw is Old Man's Cave, but you also have: Ash Cave , Conkles Hollow , Rock House , Cedar Falls, Cantwell Cliffs.....
