Oregon Coast

Hey Friends,

Where would you stay if you had 3 - 4 weeks on the Oregon Coast from mid July - August. Only interested in the mid to south area as we have already done the north part.

What part of the coast do you like best and why? Please offer your recommendations for RV Parks you like. We have a 45' motor home so we need places that are big rig friendly.

Thanks for all your help.

Leslie

My favorite place on the coast and where we have summered over the last five years isn't in Oregon but in Washington. Over the years the Oregon coast has become too crowded for us in the June-August months. That being said our favorite place is north of Astoria and south of the Olympic National Park. Because it is miles of unspoiled beach and no crowds.

Winchester Bay, Bandon and Port Orford are our favorites in the southern part.

Sea and sand, Depoe Bay (Lincon area) There is a 40 feet and under restriction, but I have seen longer units their. Beautiful Oceanfront (my fav) and Forested sites.

In the south I would suggest checking out Harbor Vista County Park in Florence. Probably a few of the sites you would not get into (maybe 5 or so), other than that the sites are all very private. There is an overlook above the jetty from the campground and you can watch Harbor Seals all day long if you like.

Have fun

We enjoy the Seaside/Astoria area and also the Newport beach area. We have also spent time in Long Beach which is in WA a little north of Astoria. Lots to do, good food and beautiful scenery.
