Oregon SP TOTAL BAN on outdoor flames!

Oregon SP has issued a state wide ban on all flame producing devices outdoors.
This includes propane fire pits and propane BBQs!

Agreed, this place is a tinderbox waiting to burn. So much has already been lost and it will be weeks before we know the number of people lost in these fires.

Prayers to all and thank you to our first responders and national guard for their service.

yup - good policy. It also allows for prosecution of anyone starting unintentional or negligent fires.

The ban applies to any fire producing device that doesn't have an on/off switch. A propane barbeque would be ok, but not any type open fire. I'm directly downwind of the fires. The smoke is horrible.

Neither are open flame devices
Both have covers and/or shields

If either were capable of starting a wildfire your RV is on fire

From the link as of now:

Campfire Restrictions
Extreme fire danger has prompted a statewide campfire ban at all state parks, including campgrounds, day-use areas and beaches. The ban includes wood, charcoal briquettes, candles, tiki torches and other devices that emit flames or embers. Propane stoves and other cooking devices that have a shutoff valve are allowed for cooking only.

I read that as banning propane fire pits but not propane grills and similar devices.
