I am looking for an overnight spot along I -81S in Pennsylvania, specifically Wilkes Barre area. Has anyone stayed at the Mohegan Sun Casino - Pocono Downs? Seems like a place to grab a meal, little entertainment and hit the road the next morning. Not opposed to a campground if there is a decent one within 50 miles or so but really don't need one. Thanks!

We stayed at a CG called 80-81 for years but there are condos there now :(. After that we stayed at Francis Slocum State Park.
It's less than 20 miles from WB.

Just Phone the casino and see if they allow overnight parking of RVs.

We stay at the Jonestown KOA 1 exit north of the junction of 81 and 78. Just a minute off the highway. Clean and convenient.

Plenty of Walmarts along I81. Stayed at just about all of them.

Yes, have stayed there twice ,now...go in and drive around to back side..will see big gravel lot on the left.....BUT turn into the right If I remember correctly , the are lots 9 or 10.....We pulled up pararell to the road on the outside of the parking lot...shuttle picked us up and returned us.....ate and gambled alittle...left in am

We stayed there for an overnite on our way to Maine last summer. easy in/out , well stocked store and nearby restaurants

Pilot travel centre along the 81 in DuPont (between Scranton and Wilkes-Barre) exit 175 used to have electrical hookup for $10 or $15 for an overnight stop. You can call to confirm : 570-655-4116. There is also a fresh water fill and dump station.

That's a nice stop but it's a loooonnngg ways from Wilkes Barre.

We've stopped at the Walmart in Hazleton a couple of times. Its about 20 mi or so south of Wilkes Barre.

Petro truck near avoca? Has a nice setup for rv's. IIRC $15-20 for the night, 50 amp and a descent restaurant as well. Fix it shop just down the hill from there. Stayed there back in Oct

interesting idea...now that you mention it, some of the casinos I have been to have very large paking lots that would accomodate a MH...good food there too. maybe this should be its own thread, but I know the vernon downs casino in vernon NY has a large parking space and would be a quiet stop if anybody is in the area. its about 4 miles from the NYS thruway.
