Overnighting in Cabelas in Thornton CO

Has anyone spent the night in the Cabelas lot in Thornton CO? Driving through in a few weeks and would like to stay there one night. Looking for replies from people that have stayed at that location.

TIA

There are two Cabela's locations in the Denver area with Thornton being one of them. We always call ahead to Cabela's if we hope to overnight at one of their stores and, if I recall correctly, neither of the two near Denver could accommodate us due to local ordinances prohibiting overnight parking. That being said, it would be much wiser of you to contact the Thornton Cabela's directly rather than to trust my memory.

I use the $5 dump station and potable water at Cabela's in Thornton frequently. I have never RONed there because of the signs and have never seen an RV there late at night. The Cabela's in Lone Tree has the same signs and has stacked pallets on top of their dump station.
The pics below were taken at the Thornton store a week ago. I would be curious to know if they allow overnight parking regardless of the signage.

Cabela's is Exit # 226 at I-25/144th Ave. If you go south to the next Exit # 225 at I-25/136yh Ave. you will find a nice WM Supercenter in the southwest corner of the interchange. They have signs posted saying overnight parking not allowed IAW city ordinance. A WM manager told me WM doesn't mind a few RVs RONing but the city gendarmes could give you a ticket. I have stayed there more times than I should admit to, have seen and been seen by a number of cops and have never been bothered. I try to return their hospitality by buying almost all our needs at WMs and I try to pickup all the trash around me left by the inconsiderate ones who leave a trail of trash wherever they go.

Update on Cabela's in Thornton. The good news is that they have replaced the hose bib at the dump station so we can flush our tanks after dumping. It's potable but within feet of numerous past sewage dumping mishaps. There is a potable water hose bib next to the dog kennels east of the dump station but since it is undoubtedly used to hose out the kennels you should take sanitary precautions.
More than a few times I have found that thieves, that's right, thieves have propped open the hinged lid covering the dump hole. They, and the people who take advantage of a free dump, are depriving Cabela's of an unknown dollar amount of income from sales or the $5 dump fee if you don't make a purchase inside.
People who do this are worse than shoplifters. When retailers lose money on shoplifters they don't stop selling the product. They just raise the prices for everyone, even the honest people.
When a business provides a service that is not supposed to lose money but it does we all lose when they stop providing that service. No competent business would do otherwise.
If you use the dump and water facilities provided please do not steal from them or make it easy for others to steal.

One of the few places in the Denver metro area that is not posted is the Sam's Club on South Wadsworth Blvd., 1 mile south of US 285. The Walmart store 1/2 mile north of the Sam's had campers until two years ago, but is now posted. I live just west of Wadsworth, pass the Sam's 3 or 4 times a week, and nearly always see a couple of RVs or semis there overnight, even in winter.
