Paricutin Volcano

We are at the entrance to the Paricutin Volcano that came into being in 1943. We had to pay 100 pesos ($4.90) for entrance fee and a place to spend the night. The area is like Colorado mountains without the snow; tall pine covered hills at 7500' with mountains to above 10,000' all around. The volcano is a six hour round trip so we only did the walk to the lava engulfed church.

There are two spots with tables and a lot more spots in the parking lot which has a grand view of Paricutin and the church engulfed by lava in 1943. It is suggested that rigs be under 24'. Bathrooms and showers are orovided

We shall spend another night here
