Park near Acadia National park

Looking for a nice RV park close enough to spend a few days in Acadia in our 40' MH. Many write-ups say parks near Bar Harbor are over priced, with sites so sloped that can't get coach level. Any suggestions?

The last time we were there we stayed down in Ellsworth with some friends at Forest Ridge Campground. 40 Flockamoosen Way, Ellsworth, ME 04605, forestridgecampground.com, (855) 299-6969
Grate park and only about 15 miles to the park.

Schoodic Woods Campground which is part of Acadia NP but across the bay to the east from the NP. Reservations thru recerations.gov. Campground is maybe three years old. Take the ferry from Winter Harbor to Bar Harbor if you want to take the bus tour of Acadia or walk thru Bar Harbor. Hour drive around the bay otherwise. $36 a night with 50 amp and water. Dump station available. You'll want the B loop which is 99% pull thru or parallel to the road. Stayed there last July.

We stayed at Timberland Acres RV Park in Ellsworth this summer. Longest pull through's we have seen. Close to both of Arcadia's parks plus close to shopping.

Here are excellent suggestions on the whole area, including where to stay. Note that she wrote multiple entries on the area. Check them out!

Schoodic is nice but a ways from the main park. Although it does have a very nice loop and great scenery. No problem with your 40' coach. We stay at Narrows Too in Trenton. FHU, sites are level and more than adequate size for any RV
