Here's a trip report on our latest RV adventure, this time on the central coast of California in Paso Robles.

No more RV trips till mid-December! :-(

Very nice area to visit. Used to live in SoCal and would visit this area often. Cambria is very pretty as well and right on the coast. From north of Santa Barbara and up is scenic but anywhere south of Santa Barbara turns into a nightmare of traffic and everything that goes with it. Nice write up you did as well.

We pass through there often. Our RV Park of choice is Cava Robles. It’s tucked away from the highway and has nice amenities. Terrific wine area. Favorite restaurant is The Hatch, it’s near the square. Firestone brewery is there also if you prefer beer. The tap room is great for lunch. Cambria is also fun and not that far away. Hearst Castle is also reachable by car from there. Hot in the summer, best in spring or fall.

Thanks for the recommendations! Cava Robles (RV Park) and The Hatch (Restaurant) and Castoro (winery) are all on the list for our next visit. :-)

Also one of my favorite areas. Usually stay at Wine Country, have to check out Cava Robles.

My favorites are the Fish Gaucho for dinner, also on the square, and Cass Winery for lunch. All of their lunches are paired with their wine and given that, are pretty reasonable. My favorites are the Salmon Cakes and the Blue Cheese Burger.

Currently my favorite wineries there are Alta Colima and Tablas Creek.

Stayed in Paso several years back for a family wedding. Great area! Also really enjoyed the Estrella Warbirds Museum, which is combined with the Woodland Auto Display. Great military museum inside, with many old aircraft outside, and really great old cars, including race cars, in the auto display.

Also also loved this barn in a meadow on the way to Lake Nacimiento:

Both wine Country and Cava Robles are run by Sun Resorts. Cava Robles is the new one only 2 years old. Both are off the 46.

Is Cass Winery the one that grills burgers one day each week? We never seem to be able to get there on the right day. Fish Gaucho is very cool. Love their bar.

Agrred, great bar, quite a Tequila wall. No on the once a weeek thing. They have a full tilt restaurant that is open seven days a week. Don't know about he weekly grilling, but sounds casual and fun!

I've driven by Cava Robles, didn't know what it was called. Like you said, real nice, just real new.
