Passport America

Is this a good club? Are they only campgrounds or do they include any RV parks and resorts? What are your experience with them?

I have had the membership for years, but I rarely use any of their campgrounds. I most likely will not renew the membership.

PassPort America...........50% Discount Membership

This is a camping discount program
They do not own/operate any CGs

CGs choose to be part of program or NOT
CGs set up their OWN set of restrictions and when discount applies
Some only allow one day...week day/no weekends
Some allow up to 7 days od discount

Provides for 50% discount off ot CGs 'daily rate'

Yearly cost is low ($44?)
Use it a couple of times and break even.

We always had a PassPort America membership.............used it when we could/where we could
It was just one tool in our box to help control nightly site fees when we FTd (had to stay someplace everynight---might as well pay as little as possible..........never WallyDocked!)

As with ANY type of membership/discount programs etc.
Gotta use it to benefit from it

We have it and use it on occasion. Especially when just needing an overnight stop. Use it twice a year and it pays for itself.

It's easy to get your money back if you remember you have the membership and use it. The app they provide is good to help you find places for overnight or for a few days.

This is an option that usually has older parks that always have spaces available to help fill them and 50% off is great some may have a limited number of PA sites. Newer parks use it to help get traffic but usually have rules and exceptions that make it hard to use when you need it. Like "no weekends" or not during certain times of the year, holidays etc. It can take some time and work. That's what makes it hard to use, every place has different restrictions (so read the fine print) Some places only use their certain hard to get into/bad spots to rent as the PA ones.

We plan our trip and then check the PA app or book to see if anyplace on our route has a place we can utilize. Mostly you would not pick a PA spot as a vacation place but you may find some that work. We found Musicland Kampground in Branson, Pontchartrain Landing in New Orleans and Angel Fire Resort in NM that were great. Good Luck

Passport America. We have it and use it a lot.. It usually pays for itself in two or three stays..

I generally attempt to pre-plan our stays while traveling. 400-600 miles a day. I really prefer to be off the road by sundown as my night vision is real crappy (I had to quit flying because of bad vision)

They have a good web site I use for planning and we also carry the book with us.

Watch the restrictions, they do vary.. Most of the places we stay at are off the beaten path and generally older places.

I like it. (Life time member) They send out a catalog every year. Plan your trip around it, to save. Better than Wally, Rest Areas and Truck stops.

Have used it for two years now. Pays for itself with just a couple of stays. Like others have said there are restrictions at most all parks that except it.
My advice is try it it's only $44.00 for a year. Like me if you like it you'll renew.

Been a member for five years can't think of any year that at least it hasn't paid for itself. The ones I have stayed at were pretty average campgrounds - clean and nice places to stay, nothing fancy. I plan the trip and then look to see if any PA's are in the area or on the route rather than go from PA to PA. All the campground are on the website Passport America Campgrounds looking them over from time to time there is some real nice campgrounds at half price. Most of the places have restrictions which are listed on the website such as Sun-Thur only or two nights. It's just another way to keep the daily average campground cost down.

As stated above, you can view all the campgrounds in the program by going to the Passport America web site.

Yes, it's well worth it.
