Pennsylvania RV Park Suggestions

We are traveling to Pennsylvania in a Class A 40' diesel with Jeep towable to visit the grand kids in late April 2014. We are trying to find a park/campground to stay at for 6 weeks. We are interested in a quadrant area between Hagerstown MD, Chambersburg PA, Harrisburg PA, and Gettysburg PA. I've researched Good Sam, KOA, RV Park Reviews, All Stays, etc for our choices. It seems the Eastern US likes shorter stays at any specific location.

We just started full-timing in Sept 2013. We haven't boondocked yet except for a Walmart parking lot once. A paved site would be great but not necessary. But 50 amp service and water ARE necessary, and having a sewer hookup would be a PLUS! All this 'convenience' stated and might not be realized and we are ok with State or Federal campgrounds if anyone has a location.

Does anyone have suggestions for nice parks in the stated area?

YOur best bet is KOA - Gettysburg. closes to the Chambersburg Area, and easy access to rt 30. Quiet campground in the Gettysburg area.

If you want to be closest to Gettysburg try Little Drummer Boy.

I second the recommendation for Drummer Boy in Gettysburg it's right next to the entrance to route 15. Great staff there and we'll maintained. We live 30 miles from there and camp there from time to time.

We've stayed in Harrisburg and at Gettysburg. I'd suggest camping in any one of the parks in the area and then do some day trips to all the available camp grounds in the quadrant you are considering.

I think the Gettysburg area would be your best choice, there are many nice campgrounds there. Like others have mentioned Drummer Boys is a great place.

Happy Camping
