We stayed at Homolovi State Park last fall. It is just east of WInslow. Easy access to the meteor crater and to Petrified Forest.

Regards.

Chuck

Looks like there's another park about a half mile from the KOA.

Both of the Gift shops at the South entrance/exit of the park offer RV camping. One is free for no hookups, the other has electric sites.

We stayed there. Not bad for a few nights and it’s close to the PF! 😉

we always stayed at the OK RV Park in Holbrook. not much more than a parking lot but long sites that easily accomodated our 40' class a + toad. not every site is 50-amp so be sure to reserve. power/water is good and multiple sewer connections to suit your length. very little tree cover so good for sat. tv. this is an old mobile home park and is adjacent to a residential area. walking distance to a McDonalds and just down the street from a Maverik gas station with truck/RV lanes (gas and diesel). google earth for a good look.

There was a small campground at the south entrance, not fancy but convenient to the park.

I drove through the park last year. Just needed a place to pull over and sleep. I filled with fuel at the Mavericks fuel station and asked the clerk if he knew any place I could pull into for the night. He said they allowed parking in behind the building as long as you didn't block the trucks from coming or going. So I just pulled off to the side to get a bit to eat, check the news on my laptop, and sleep. Trucks were pulling in/out through the night but not as bad as some of the places I stayed at. Last week I was parked at a campground next to a busy highway that was much worse.

i visited in late Nov, it was cold that night.

We stayed at the Meteor Crater RV Park a few years ago and it was decent for a desert RV park. It's an easy day trip to the PF and Meteor Crater is worth visiting as well.

That's where we stayed with our 40' MH.

You really only need a day to drive through the park & other than overnight, just take your RV to do so. There are parking spots enroute.

We've also stayed at Homolovi State Park but not to tour Petrified Forest.

We like the KOA, nice owners and COWBOY breakfast and diner. Both are reasonable, good and fun!

We stayed at the OK RV Park in Holbrook and thought it was fine. We entered the Petrified Forest/Painted Desert at the north entrance off I40 and had no trouble finding RV parking at the visitor centers and almost every scenic overlook. We are 55' long with the toad. We exited at the south entrance, then headed to Holbrook.
