Looking for recommendations for week long stay in the Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg area for late September.

Traveling in a 40' dp with our toad.

Thanks,

My friend stayed at Rivers Edge RV Park this past July and said it was nice. They also saw a KOA in Pigeon Forge that looked good they they will try next year.

River Plantation RV Resort in Sevierville is very nice! Stayed there with a 42' 5th wheel and had plenty of room...

We stayed at the KOA in July, we got one of the Deluxe full hookup sites in the north west corner. Very noisy as the street was about 20ft from my site. The other sites look very tight and crowded. I would not stay there again.

We have stayed at Two Rivers Landing, and now at Anchor Down.....Treat yourself and visit Anchor Down! Out in the Country a bit, but within 10-15 miles of all the action downtown.......
Can't say enough about the owner's and the worker's here........
If you come, Meet up and say Hi to a guy working afternoons for the resort, his name is Bill(Captain Bill), and take his $10.00 per person pontoon boat ride on the lake!

I think it depends on what you like to do. We go to the area to visit Great Smoky Mountains National Park. We like hiking and scenic drives in the park. We despise the touristy spots in Pigeon Forge and Sevierville. While Anchors Down looks great, it is a long drive to get to sites in the NP. We have stayed twice at Twin Creek RV in Gatlinburg and love it. We started in a 40 ft DP with Toad. There are nice restaurants in Gatlinburg we also frequent.

We've stayed at River Plantation, Two Rivers and Anchor Down and while Anchor Down is a true RV Resort, it is not very convenient to PF and GB. I would stay at River Plantation

Most of the campgrounds in the area are nice. We go at least once every year and stay at River Plantation. IRV2 had a convention there several years ago. Large campground, close to many attractions, only drawback is see is getting out a making a left hand turn.

Twin Creek in Gatlinburg is our favorite, but we don't spend time in Pigeon Forge.

We went to a small rally at Two Rivers in Sevierville a few years ago. The park is lovely, particularly the nose in spots right along the river-- great views. I'd go back there just to relax for a week looking at the river
But the 20 miles of schlocky tourist trap between there and Gatlinburg? Send me a post card if you want to. I have no interest in seeing that again!
