Leaving the kids home and sneaking down south with only the wife to see Dollywood and the Biltmore Estate decorated for Christmas.

One last trip before winter sets in...

Make reservations to eat at the Deer Park Inn on the Biltmore Estate. They serve one magnificent Christmas dinner. Eat, then take the after dark tour - if you can still walk. Have a wonderful trip.

Just got back from a week in Pigeon Forge (River Plantation RV Park) for Thanksgiving. Drove the van up into the mountains one day but got behind a spray truck (sand? salt?) and we turned around near the top. Hit a couple of icy spots and did some scary sliding. While we were at the welcome station on the Gatlinburg end, they closed the road into the Park. Traffic coming back toward Atlanta Sunday was horrendous almost all the way to Chattanooga...much was 4-8 MPH to I40, then around 30 most of the way to Georgia. Opened up in Georgia, but by then we were well into a 9 hour trip. I won't plan on leaving there on the Sunday after Thanksgiving again!!!
