I'll be heading out on July 20th for a week at Pine Mountain Campground in Georgia (www.camppinemountain.com). I've been to the animal park there once in the past, and our weekend is planned, but does anyone have any other info on things to do in the area? I'll be sure to post a review of the grounds upon our return.

Well, we returned today from our vacation. Pine Mountain Campground was a great place for our family reunion. The entire staff there are very nice and helpful. We were escorted to our site, guided next to our deck and assistance with setting up was offered. The small store at the site was somewhat pricey, but even the dollar stores down the road were not much cheaper so it wasn't so bad in relation to the other stores in the area. When we arrived on Wednesday, there were no other pop-ups or tents there. A few travel trailers (some permanent) and a couple of big RV's. The pool was always clean and never crowded (except when our entire group took it over LOL). The most impressive thing I saw there though was the restrooms/showers. At first I thought that they stayed so clean because only the four of us were using them. By Friday however, several tents had arrived and about 20 people were using the restrooms and showers on a regular basis. The appearance and cleanliness never changed. I've read others complaints about the dirt and gravel drives and unlevel sites, but no-one there had any problems. We had pop-ups, RV's, and travel trailers and had no problem with leveling or the paths. We had some serious rain a few days which causes some washouts, but they were corrected as soon as the rain stopped or first thing in the morning. Staff were always around cleaning the paved roads, the pool or the put-put golf course and friendly as well as helpful. The "pond"¯ was a big nasty mud hole but it really didn't matter. They had small fire pits at every site, some with decks, privacy fence, and/or grills. They also had a bonfire ring, playground, and a large pavilion for group meetings or meals. We also took up half the road with three screen rooms linked together for the group meals and games with permission for the owners, and no complaints or problems from any other campers. We had the oldest camper there, but were treated as well as our family with the $350K RV. I look forward to staying there again!

Here is a pic of our vintage popup at Pine Mountain Campground. Yeah, I know the awning is loose, but we had just had a torrential rain and I wanted to get the pic before it started back LOL!
