Plan to go to Parris Island SC

Going to my son's graduation from Marine Corp basic training on February 26. Graduation is Mar 1. Is Hunting island near the base and is it nice there?

Can't testify to the campground but I want to say congratulations to the new Marine! Our daughter just got out. We have been in your shoes and I know how proud you must be!

Paris Island has a small Camp ground. Anything around Beufort would be close. Congratulations on your new Marine. I was class of 73.

Hunting is not real close but manageable. Hunting has suffered through two major hurricanes in the last couple of years and is recovering. Nice place, remote, quiet.

As mentioned, Parris Isl has a small campground at Onslow Beach. I’f you qualify (retired military) this would be the best bet. It is very isolated and quite (except for marines doing maneuvers and such). It was damaged by the Hurricane last year, but I see on the net that it is up and running.
