Planning trip from OK to Mrytle Beach and Charleston- late May 2014

Planning a trip for late May, have about 4 weeks, in our motorhome Have reservations for week at Myrtle Beach Lakewood Resort, and a week at Charleston, at Charleston County Park.
Celebrating 20 year anniversary. Like suggestions for things to see along the route, maybe memorable things for anniversary. And just good information anyone would wish to share

Birmingham is nice, The Sloss Furnace museum if you are interested in how steel was made. Stone Mountian in Atlanta, great spot they have campground. Murrells inlet for seafood. Pawleys Island to watch hammocks being made by hand. Enjoy your trip.

Crabby Mike's in Surfside Beach for the best seafood buffet. Best ice cream is Painter's Homemade at Highway 17 and Calhoun Dr in Garden City Beach ( Murrells Inlet address) http://www.yelp.com/biz/painters-hom...murrells-inlet. Lee's Inlet Kitchen and Nance's for sit down sea food in Murrell's Inlet. In Charleston Patriot's Point naval museum is a must see http://www.patriotspoint.org/explore...FWIV7Aod43QA3Q. Walk the downtown area and the Battery. Take the boat out to Ft. Sumter. For down home southern cookin' drop into Justine's on your walk Good down-home cooking! - Review of Jestine's Kitchen, Charleston, SC - TripAdvisor .

Lots to do and see in that part of the country.

I live just a couple of miles south of Lakewood Campground, it's a nice place. Be sure to see Brookgreen Gardens in Murrells Inlet, go the first day or two of your visit, the ticket is good for a week so you can visit again.
There are several "shows" that are very good for nighttime entertainment, The Carolina Opry & The Alabama Theatre. Don't miss out on the Sky Wheel, located downtown and offers a great view of the ocean and town. Have a great visit.

Ditto on Great Smoky Mtns. Gatlinburg, TN is an interesting stop. Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC is also nice if you like huge mansions and gardens. Maybe not on the direct route but the Jack Daniels distillery in Lynchburg, TN.
