Quartzsite and dogs

I have done a quick search but didn't find much on this subject.
We are going to Quartzite for the first time and will be boondocking with our dog. I though I remember a post about the goat head burs, or sand burs, being a problem and tha dog booties might be needed.
If burs are a real problem will dog booties help? Any suggestions on brand names?

Maybe a different area but have camped in several areas in the Q area, have never seen any. Camp with several people with pets on walks and never heard of the goat heads.

We took our dog with us to Quartzsite last years stayed on BLM land. We didn't have a problem. I just kept him on leash and watched where we walked. If we let him run free through the wash and bush area that could have been a problem.

If your dog would wear booties, go for it. Mine would just get happy thinking he had a new toy.

No problem. You'll see many dogs walking in the desert. I've never seen booties out there.

Howdy!

We never had a problem in Quartzsite. We did have a encounter with what they call jumping cactus once in the dessert rockhounding. The other thing that is dangerous for you dog are the coyotes. A lot of pets come up missing every year due to coyotes.

We had goat heads in the dogs in Phoenix and a few in Yuma but none last year at LaPosa and Roadrunner areas of Q.
