They are a member of the ARVC, if that makes a difference to you. I know that because I've been going thru the GoCamping website writing down all the ARVC member parks in our directory so we don't make the mistake of staying at one.

 I'm new to the forum. I the wife of Don Renouf and would like to give my opinion of Red Coconut RV Resort.
We made a reservation in December, 1999 for 10 days to be in Florida for the mellenium. It was great for us. It's located in the heart of Ft. Myers and everything is close by by way of car or bicycle. The resort itself is "cozy" with sites very close together. But the benefits make up for it. You can even get a site across the street on the shore. Be sure to check out Time Square at the end of the main street. They have everything. Great food-music-shops-swimming-etc.

ARVC is the campground owners organization that is behind the pavement parking bans. ARVC even has a "kit" for their members on how to get laws passed to prevent the "freeloading" RVers from parking in the parkinglots overnight and thereby depriving the campground owners of their income (they also intend on preventing RV from parking in all kinds of places if it's not one of their campgrounds). Think Nova Scotia on a city by city basis (do a search for "Billings Montana", "Boondocking" or "ARVC" on the forums). This has gotten more coverage over at www.escapees.com It's our choice where we spend our money. We don't want to support folks that support bans on parking our RV where we decide to. Personal choice, not even a free night of camping will change our minds. To each his own.

Hi Don and Wife Welcome to the forum
Thank you for your insight. We have heard a lot of very good things about the Red Coconut; We have had reservations since May last year. There will be 5 RV's going together. We plan to have a blast!!
P.S We're both new to the forum also, But not new to Rv'ing.

Red Coconut is a fairly nice campground. the waterfront sites are very, and I do mean, very tight. We stayed across the street in the main campground, near the front .... nice pull thru sites ... The major complaints were that the power connections were old and rusty and the water pressure low ... the beach is just a very short walk and the site prices are lower than on the beach. While there have dinner at Charlie's - great food

Thanks C Driver;
We have reservations in the Park side. Thanks for the Tip on Charlie's and we'll be sure to try them. Went on the Fort Myer's web site and found Charley's www.boathousegrill.net
Thanks for the pics

Hi A.J
We have not camped there but have been over there several times visiting. We will be at San Carlos RV Park from Mid March to April 14, this Campground is on the Left before you cross the tall bridge over to Fork Myers Beach. We are camping with friends from Tilbary Ontario, and from London Ontario. May be we can meed up down there.
Back to Red Con. it is nice close to everthing that is happening (walking distance) a little $$$ but that is for their location.

Sorry it took so long to reply but we were having a bit of techincal difficulties.
We're also there with 4 other RVing friends from Ontario. Sounds good maybe we can hook up while were down there.
What does your rig look like?
