Red River, NM Big-Rig Access and Camping Options

Just got a bug-up-my-butt (figuratively specking) to take a trip to the Red River, NM area for fun, adventure, music festival (small as they have them), some fly fishin' and re-living some distant memories from about 10 to 15 years ago. So... I need some current info from recent trip travelers to that area. If this actually happens, it would be sometime in August for 3... maybe 4 weeks.

Initially I'd be traveling from the San Diego area, stopping in Tucson to visit my favorite daughter. Then possibly Flagstaff, Albuquerque, Santa Fe via the Turquois Trail, Taos and eventually Red River.

The consideration:
1. I have a big and beautiful 45' MH and will be towing my full size pickup with a sand car mounted on top of it's bed (side loading)
2. For most of this trip, I see no problems (other than the unexpected ones). My considerations are for the areas leading north from Santa Fe. And, as I approach and pass Taos, heading for the far more rural areas of Red River.

So the question(s):
For a big-rig
----a. Road widths
----b. Twist and turns. I know they're there and on my motorcycle they're lots of fun. But what about in a big-rig?

Obviously I'm seeking current info and not from years past.

Thanks.

Santa Fe north to Red River, NM no sweat.
Road is still 2 lane but no tunnels or low bridges on the way.
It is a beautiful drive.

My rig is 38ft plus toad total = 53ft and have driven that road.

Our rig is right around 65' and we towed from Angle Fire into Taos then down to Santa Fe with no issues, yes some spots were full of curves but had no problem and up around Red River seemed to be the most open area we traveled in. Now a campground might have the trailer parked elsewhere besides the site but plenty of off-road vehicles there so they are probably used to that. Have fun

NM

Just back from Angel Fire NM yesterday. We stayed at Angel Fire RV Resort. It's perfect for big rigs. We were in a 46' rig (with the brush guard) plus a pintle mount receiver, tow bar, 4 d rubicon unlimited, and a 4 bike rack (a little over 70'). I ran east from I 25 on rt 64 through Eagle's Nest. No problems. My wife drove the jeep west f Angel Fire to Taos one day and reported it to be a pretty wide open road. I'm told the additional north leg to Red River is uneventful too. You can also plan a route north on I25 then east on rt 58 to Cimarron to rt 64 to Angel Fire, Taos, or north f 64 to Red River as an option.

Tks for this very current travel info. Always of definite value against my "15 yr. old" memory of that same trip.
