Looking for advise on RPI. Considering buying a membership for about 1000.00. Is this a good program in your opinion?

MSgt,
I think you can do better. There are lots of Coast to Coast and RPI folks who are willing to give their memberships away to anyone who will take over their commitment.
You really need to investigate all possibilities before you invest that amount of money, including home park requirements, maintenance fees and perhaps most importantly where their parks are located as regards your travel plans. When we belonged I found that they were almost never conveniently located to our route of travel. Different story if you want to use them as your destination. At any rate - look before you leap. Happy Trails.
