Yesterday I passed up a very large rest area near Ocala as I was not feeling a need and there was another less than 50 miles away. But that one had very few truck/RV spaces.
So, is there an app that shows the number of truck and/or RV parking spaces in rest areas so I can plan stops?

I use Google maps satellite view to check rest areas out on my route .

Never considered this issue, but Google Maps is the way to go. I was having a discussion with someone earlier this afternoon on a "situation" and while discussing the vehicle(s) in question, I asked where was the grey Honda CRV in the google street view and the white sedan in the satellite view. After a bit of a gasp, they decided the truth was the best bet.

We use both Allstays.com and Google Maps.

Not only rest stops but fueling locations, route planning, RV Parks and on and on.

The more info you have the better the trip.

Yes, there is an app for that.

It's called USA Reststops. I use it on most trips.

Thanks for the replies. I’ve used Allstays for years and have seen the rest stops designated. It would be even more useful if it showed mile marker information not just coordinates.

I have used All Stays Rest Stops Plus, for several years. It has gps coordinates that you can plug into Google earth, and take a look and see the parking spaces.

For several years now, OH has started putting signs up on the interstates showing the number of available spaces open for the closest & next closest rest areas. I hope, eventually, there will be an app for this data.

Google Maps satellite is fine for seeing the overall layout of a rest area, but it can't tell you what's available.

As long as you understand that Google maps satellite view is NOT REAL TIME! The photos you are looking at may be months old, and that vacant rest area you're checking out may actually be filled to overflowing when you get there.

When I said “ you can see the spaces,” I assumed most users would know the images are not real time. Sorry, My mistake!!
I should have said, you can see the parking spaces, and measure them with the measuring tool, to see if your particular rig will fit.
That feature has saved me several times, from stopping at a rest stop that won’t accept my MH with the toad.
I agree it would be helpful to have active webcams at rest stops to show real time for availability.

Trucker Path app will show you the parking areas, rest stops, and how many truck spots are available in each. Not fool proof, but pretty good.

They had the same thing in Kansas on I-70. Of course, since the info may be current at the time you see the signs, things may be different by the time you get to the next rest stop which could be 40-60 minutes away.
