Will be coming from Deming to Alamogordo to Roswell.

Do you think if we stay 1 nite (where?) in Alamogordo
and 1 nite (where?) in Roswell... would be enough to take in the sites?

What have you done and/or recommend in each?

Also, do you recommend staying in Pecos or Ft. Stockton, Sonora (where?)
heading on to San Antonio..It's 350 miles Roswell to San Antonio..
Anyone recently done this.. have heard the oil workers are taking
up all the sites and you have to boondock.. if so where?

Suggest you do a search of "What to see in (city, state)." Then decide on what you want to see and experience to calculate the number of days for your stays.

Roswell to San Antonio is doable....We've stayed here a few times and I'd recommend it.
Hilltop RV park in Fort Stockton is a good stop off place too.

Formerly from West Texas, I would recommend Ruidoso NM, Calsbad Caverns, Balmorhea Springs for sightseeing and/or camping. I have stayed at Hilltop RV (Ft Stockton) a couple times for quick overnight stops. It is very decent and easy, but with caliche drives and parking areas. Be aware that the ongoing oil boom has a lot of RV parks along that route full to capacity. Most keep a few spots for overnight stays.

We've stayed at Hilltop in Fort Stockton. The people were nice and the place was tidy but windy and dusty.

Since, we've stayed at the Ft. Stockton RV Park on the east side of town. Nicer sites and a café serving a reasonably priced basic dinner if you'd like to give your chef a break.
