Rt. 8 thru Wisconsin

My wife and I are newbies traveling in our 36' motorhome and will be going through Wisconsin east to west on rt.8 probably on Wed. and Thurs. the 25th. and 26th. of June. Can anyone help with suggestions on where we can find some camping spots. There doesn't seem to be much along the rt. 8 corridor looking in the good sam directory. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help, Bruc.

Go to Google Maps and close in on the rt 8 road. Type RV parks in the search bar and it will list all the RV parks available.

I just did that and in the western part of the state a few came up located on rt 8.

I used to get all the printed directories years ago but found that they didn't list all the parks unless the parks paid for the listings.

Google Maps lists everything and it gives you their phone number and website. You can also use the satellite view and look at the campground before you go there.

Spend some time to learn how to use Google maps and you'll never need a directory again.

We went across the country on highway 2, close to the border. It was mostly two lane road but very nice with little traffic.

Shouldn't really be a problem finding nice RV campgrounds all along the way. Pembine, great campsites in the Nicolet (Chequamegon) National Forest, Rhinelander, Prentice, Ladysmith, Rice Lake (just north of Hwy 8), Chetek (just south of Hwy 8), Prairie Lake (just south of Cameron), Barron, Turtle Lake, and St. Croix Falls. This is a corridor heavily traveled by vacationers and there a many great camping opportunities. Good Luck!
