RV camping near Toronto
Looking for a decent RV park near Toronto Ontario for mid September this year. 3 days, midweek.
There's not a lot showing up. Situation appears worse than Vancouver!
I've found Bronte Creek ( not open for booking yet) and Glen Rouge ( closed past 2 years for renos).
Anyone have any other options close to TO?

Weird, I replied but it seems to have disappeared...
Bronte is quite nice for it's location. All of the Ontario Provincial Parks open for booking 5 months before the date, and fill quickly. (Some people even book the days BEFORE they intend to arrive in order to book sooner, then cancel those days they don't intend to use). I would get on at exactly 7am EST 5 months before your intended arrival to get it booked.
It's a great park for access to Toronto by car or transit.
It also has a great off-leash area if you care, but watch for coyotes throughout the park, they can be quite bold.

I've been to Bronte Creek in September before and it was mostly empty, that would be your best option. There is a KOA off the 401 in the Milton area as well (just west of Toronto). The KOA north of the city is up past Barrie, too far away.

You don’t say when this was, but any Ontario Provincial Parks (except maybe the far north ones) have gotten very very busy in the last few years. With the US exchange rate being crazy, and the push to stay in Canada due to the current political situation, it’s only going to get worse. I’d still recommend booking as early as possible…

Between 2020 and 2024 I stayed at Bronte Creek twice, Point Farms 3x, Pinery 3x, MacGregor point, Selkirk, Rondeau and Wheatley. After labor day weekend they really empty out. Of course book in advance but you don't need to do it within seconds of the website allowing it. Ive never had a problem finding a provincial park but I know they all fill up during long weekends so I avoid those dates.
Boondockers welcome is another option for the OP, there are spots right downtown Toronto if needed

If you’re thinking about the one at Hwy 400 and Hwy 89, it’s no longer listed as a KOA Campground.

Glen Rouge is permanently closed. No need to discuss further.
Reservations for Bronte in September can be made starting in April. You can only book 5 months to the day, ahead of your start date.
We’ve also found lots of availability there after the Labour Day weekend.

The KOA in the Milton area is now called

Not far away you’ll find Milton Heights

Before the pandemic hit we had plans in 2020 to attend a tennis tournament in York just north of Toronto. We had reservations at the KOA, it was about 35 miles due north of the University. After the covid closings we received notice from the KOA that they were closing due to their inability to make the updates required by KOA. It was a more rustic looking (to be kind) campground in the KOA universe.
When we were considering attending this year but decided to stay home this summer, I was considering Indian Line Campground located west of the city.

I live in the village, Campbellville, and know that Milton Heights Campground is also a good choice just down the road. Close to shopping for groceries, fuel, restaurants, horse racing and casino etc.
My first choice would be Milton Heights Campground for size and amenities.
Both are located on the scenic Niagara Escarpment and in horse country.

What kind of spots? Surely not for a 40-foot motorhome? I'm very interested.
