NOTHING within walking distance. Our car never moved for 5 days thanks to the shuttle. No need for groceries with the French Quarter every day and the eats on site. Good experience all in all. Don't miss the WW2 museum, allow an entire day.

I thought the place, Pontchartrain Landing, was very dusty and the shuttle schedule really didn't allow for taking in the great music in the quarter in the evenings. We ended up taking the toad. On prior trips we stayed at FQ RV and found that to be great for visiting the FQ... never had any concerns about safety, but the noise from traffic took a while to get accustomed to.
