We always stay at Skidaway. quick ride into Savannah. Prob. not full h/ups as State Park, but for a couple of days shouldn't be a problem.

I like Skidaway, though we have not stayed at any of the others.
Some sites at Skidaway have sewer and 50 amp service. As I recall these were gravel sites.

Other (slightly cheaper) sites lack sewer; some of those are 50 amp while others are 30 amp. As I recall, these were dirt sites ( except perhaps for the handicapped ones )

All are pull through, though some are straighter and others curved.

Fort McAllister is in really rough shape after Hurricane Matthew. I would suggest Skidaway Island State Park. It's a nice campground and convenient to Savannah. Very safe place, clean facilities and quiet. Red Gate Farms is nice right off Veterans Parkway. If you going straight down 95 the KOA is still the most convenient to the highway.

Skidaway has around 18-20 Full Hook up sites. We stayed over Christmas and had one. The just redid many of them after Hurricane Matthew (we took a by of a beating here in Savannah). The pull through/full hook up sites are huge with gravel with nice fairly level compressed rock pads.

We stay at Hardeeville RV park and it is very close the Savannah Visitor Center. The campground is located in SC. However, it does not have a bathhouse but does have a laundry. It is a PPA park too which is a bonus for us. Once was enough for us at Skidaway State park. Unless there have made some upgrades, the roads are extremely narrow and most of the sites are difficult for a large 5th wheel. We are in the minority on our opinion of this state park though.

We wound up going with what we know for this trip and booked two nights at Savannah South KOA. After our tour of Savannah tomorrow we're going to check out Skidaway State Park and possibly some of the others so that on our return trip we can try a different park. The folks at this KOA have been wonderful but we like to try other parks as well. Thanks for the suggestions.
