RV trip Fresno to Colorado
We are planning a trip Colorado from Fresno, CA in 2 weeks ~ husband wanted to go on the Loneliest highway (highway 50) to Colorado. Anyone done that lately and any suggestions on which way to go and interesting things to see? Thanks so much for any info. Darlene

We did highway 50 from Colorado to California several years ago.
You will soon learn why they built Interstate 80 well north of highway 50. Mountain top after mountain top after mountain top.
Road is fine and we encountered no problems.
Get fuel when you are at a half tank.

It's an extremely nice highway and a change from the hectic interstates....nice scenery. As stated, drive on the top 1/2 of your tank. You didn't mention what RV you have but the bigger cities (although not really big) will have both gas and diesel.
Have a good trip!

Darlene7...I don't know if you are aware of it but if you join the Fresno or Clovis Elks Lodge you can stay at Elks RV parks all over the country for $20 or $25 a night.
Contact me for more info.

We just returned via Hwy 50 from Colorado Springs 2 days ago. Lots of great scenery on this highway compared to I80. Fuel was not an issue.

Thanks Arch, wte are members of the Elks and have used their rv parks a lot, very nice to have places to to stay at in so many areas. We made one 2 week trip and stayed at only Elks clubs along the way ~ great fun, nice places and nice people.
