My opinion on Rt 100: If you're uncomfortable with your rig whenever you're off the interstate, you'll be uncomfortable on Rt 100. It's mostly a single lane in each direction with some good climbs and descents
I'd happily drive our 35' motorhome (55' w/toad) on 100 any day. It's so much more interesting than the interstate. But it's certainly more work for the driver than cruising down the interstate.

I have run it (rt. 100) with my 25'tt. all the way north to south. One single lane bridge that caught me off guard was the one to
enter into Jamiaca State Park off 100 in southern VT.
Or it you take RT. 100 all the way south past Mt. Snow Ski Resort. The intersection of Rt. 100 in Wilmington. Touristy town with narrow streets. People would park on the side of the road a foot or two into the roadway. It was almost to the point, the state needs to have a truck route around that intersection (Routes 9 & 100) I have no idea how 53' semi's get there there on weekends, especially ski season.
