Sams Town RV Park

We are heading to Las Vegas mid March and are considering staying at the Sams Town (now LV KOA). Anybody stayed there? Would a reservation be needed? We are not sure exactly when we will arrive.

I would make a reservation now, especially because of March Maddness is filling up quickly. We made ours back in December. Good luck.

If you can not get into the KOA, check out the Oasis at the south end of the strip.

One advantage of the Oasis,,, Though no casino on site (like Sam's) They are owned by one of the big Casino groups and run a shuttle bus to all the company properties,, Up and down the strip.

If you stay at Arizona Charlie's, make sure that you don't leave anything out or not secured. Last couple of times we stayed there, the abandoned RV park next door had become a haven for a fair size number of homeless that seemed to like to wander through at night and pick up anything left laying.

I'm at Arizona Charlie's right now. Sam's does have some room but I would reserve as in addition to March Madness, there is a NASCAR event in March as well. I prefer AC to ST as all sites are 50 amp, they have concrete pads and it is cheaper and the wifi is not an extra charge.

We have not experienced any theft while there and we do leave a few items outside. They seem to have decent security and the last time I looked it appeared that they have cleared out the homeless folks. Make reservations here as well, especially if you have a large rig.

Agree on the accommodations and the buffet there is generally pretty good, especially breakfast. Have stayed there several times over the years, including while the wife and I were house hunting on two occasions. All the pads, hook ups and wifi better than the average and there are security patrols on the property itself. Must have made a lot of improvements on security next door. Last time we stayed there was April last year, I also use AC as a my shake down stop prior to leaving Las Vegas on our long trips and we saw the homeless coming in nest door just as the sun was going down and out as the sun started coming up. I saw a couple of them on the AC property in between patrols after 10 pm. I will use AC again come late April or early May when we take off for south Texas, but as always, I leave nothing unsecured or unlocked.

x2 for Oasis... That is, IF you don't want to gamble or don't mind paying for a cab to the casinos. Me? I prefer retail therapy and hit the Premium Outlets and Las Vegas Town Square... There's a Fry's! Also, Steiner's Las Vegas Style Pub is open 24 hours and serves some good food! Especially breakfast!

Couple other good eating spots at Town Square, The Yard House and Pot Liquor. IMO the mac and cheese is one of the best I have ever had.

Made reservations at Sams KOA mid March. Parents can stay close by at the casino. They will be riding down with us but not staying in the MH. We fly there a couple of times a year, this will be the first time "camping". 3500 mile round trip and first trip in a MH so it will be a gamble in more than one way.
