Corpus Christi Area

Not much in Corpus Christi proper, but nice parks in Port Aransas on Mustang Island; Port A RV Park is a new one - very nice but a bit tight, Pioneer RV Park is a larger, very nice park with activities and easy access to the Gulf Beach, and several others in "downtown" Port Aransas, but they are very tight and not near the beaches.

Rockport and Aransas Pass, on the mainland, both have some nice parks too. Rockport has more than Aransas Pass.

We stayed at Colonia Del Ray in Corpus. It was fine.

We stay at Admiralty. Again, it is fine.

My old house's backyard was next to Admiralty. It's nice, but blazing star right around the corner was nicer. At least 10 years ago that was the case.

Try Goose Island State Park north of Rockport. You might be able to get a sit right along the seawall overlooking the bay, but the wooded area is nice also.Just look out for low overhanging tree branches. We tore up our roof driving out of there.

We stayed 3 nights at the San Antonio KOA and loved it! Very nice park and great staff. Bus stop in front of the park runs every 20 min or so, staff gives out a bus schedule. Much better than trying to find parking around the River Walk or Alamo, only $1.20 to ride, cheaper than parking. We plan on going back again soon and will absolutely stay at the KOA again!!!

We are in Fredericksburg now. We went to the National Museum of the Pacific War today. They have done a phenomenal job presenting the build up to WW II, the entire campaign and the aftermath. It is a MUST see when in Fredericksburg!

We are off to Admiralty in the morning, then Goose Island, thanks all for the suggestions!
