I love Hearst Castle. I also love San Simeon state park. I have stayed there a few times. Great part of California.

If your headed south still, check out Jalama Beach. You won't be disappointed.

Heard, no, one or two with the donkeys, yes. Usually they are a mile or more from the fence. You were lucky to get a good close picture like that.

Thanks....It's amazing in our RV how much more we see than when staying in a hotel or just driving through.

We're newbies and that's one of our favorite parts of the experience. Setting up camp in 5 minutes is right up there too!
Your trip reports have proven inspirational as we're in a similar boat. North Bay here, I work 6 days most weeks and we were starting to feel that we couldn't get many fun trips in with the busy schedule. Your trip reports most of which are Fri-Sun show otherwise. We'll be duplicating some of your trips any time I can add a couple days to my Sundays off. Thanks!

BJCSF2014, thanks for the comments! We are blessed to live in a place people travel to from all over the world to visit. There is so much to see here we have just scratched the surface. I am so glad our posts have encouraged you to see more of it. I still work full time and getting away for a long weekend really refreshes me and helps give me the perspective I need to excel at work. At least that's my story and I'm sticking with it! :-) I'd love to read about some of your adventures in the future.
Al and Deb
