Does anyone have any experience camping at Santee lakes Park near San Diego? Any feedback would be appreciated

We went to Santee a couple a few years ago. It's 30 min outside SD, very nice and clean park. You definitely want to get sites right on the water. The picture taken is site 12 I believe.

We spent a month at Santee 2yrs. ago and had no problem with it. It's an easy drive on the freeways to get just about anywhere in the San Diego area. And if I remember correctly the rates were really reasonable when comparing with some of the other places.

If they are booked the other San Diego County parks are also pretty good/nice.

We're here at Santee right now for two months. We've been here a little over a week w/ no issues. Even though it was "packed" this last weekend, it was still very quiet at night. Clean, reasonably priced, close to anything you need shopping/food wise, etc. Easy access to everything in SD area. It's about 2 miles from the Trolley line we're going to check out today. Also, a really nice regional park (Mission) with 60 mi of hiking only about 3 miles away . . . Dog friendly, folks are friendly.
