Scranton, PA
Looking for FHU, pull-through sites in Scranton area near I-81. I have a 30 ft motorhome towing a car on tow dolly so I'm concerned of steep grades the further away from I-81 you go.
Shady Rest Campgound in South Gibson PA is near I-81 but reviews state some sites are a bit tight. Anyone have experience with this particular campground?
Would welcome any input of nice campgrounds on I-81 between Scranton, PA and Binghamton, NY. Happy travels!

Can't help with the Scranton area, I'm originally from the Binghamton area and knew that there were essentially no places that had 50 amp and could handle our 43' MH. We stayed in Owego at Hickories Park. Great county park on the river. Large clean sites and FHU.

Try using RV Trip Wizard for helping. We use for planning trips, then use a dedicated GPS, Garmin 770, unit for navigation.

WHen I look for a CG in an area I'm not familiar with or of it has questionable reviews about access, I go to Google Earth and check it out. You can use the measuring tool to get the actual size of the sites as well as layout. Here's a link to that CG you asked about

Wow, thank you so much for putting in the time and effort! Great tool.
Looking at this I think I'm going to pass on this campground. Happy travels!

Just notice this, I am from that area,, sorry... actually not much as close to 81 worth a hoot... nothing pull thru..
I have some private places but they are normally full.. also no grades but twisty narrow roads in only couple miles but..
other places are 10-18 miles off 81 that are commercial style places but are all oll family owned..

We will be attending a convention in downtown Scranton for a week this July. Anyone have experience staying at any of the state parks with hookups near there?

Nothing Close ,, most are 18 to 25+miles..
This one seems ok, I drove by, https://www.claytonpark.net/
few others in that area but 45min away..
The Tunkhannock area has rustic Valley and a few others , google .. BUT most are seasonal..
I know of a private place,, but it is around 35 miles, easy shot down 81s, one exit on Rt80.. Full hook up, back in. nothing really to offer but wooded and farm. Great owner maybe has 20 sites ..small pond, 2000+ acres woods..hiking..atv..

I lived in the area for 38 years (just went fulltime) and Clayton park has 2 or 3 "transient" spaces. Keen Lake in Waymart would be a better chance of finding something. Closer than Tunkhannock
