Seattle Area Campgrounds

Doing our cross country sojourn from NJ to Badlands, Yellowstone, Grand Teton and then up to Seattle. Any recommded CG's or parks close in to the City, give or take 20 miles or so? Things to see and experience? We'll then be heading down to Portland and the Oregon Coast before doing San Francisco, Napa and on home. Any help will be appreciated.

Here are a couple you should look at, they are listed on RV Park reviews.

Lake Pleasant in Bothell, Wa. We stayed there for 10 days in June if this year and would return there again.
Lake Ki looks nice and has nice reviews.

We did the Lake Pleasant park in Bothell a couple seasons back. Pretty nice, and very close to everything.

Dash Point SP is just north of Tacoma on Puget Sound. It's is very handy for Tacoma attractions and meets the "or so" distance requirement to Seattle. You can catch light rail in Federal Way to get to downtown Seattle. It will fill up on weekends in Sept. We will be there again this year in Sept with a camping group.

While not quite as close as you’re looking for, we stayed at Gig Harbor the last time we were in Seattle. Taking the Bremerton ferry proved convenient for touring Seattle itself, and we found a lot to see and do on the other side of the bay as well. Most all the RV parks we saw close to Seattle didn’t seem very desirable.
