Rancho Sedona RV park is very nice. It's on Schnebly Hill Rd which was briefly seen in the movie National Lampoons Vacation.

Distant Drums RV in Camp Verde is near Out of Africa wild animal park and close to Cottonwood.

We ended up staying at Dead Horse Ranch SP. It is a very nice facility with good hookups. However, after coming from River Island SP near Parker, it seemed a lot more crowded. It served ithe purpose as we explored Cottonwood, Jerome, and Prescott.

BTW, we will return to River Island SP. Beautiful clear water with lots of activities. We did some serious desert rock hopping and also rented a pontoon boat for a day on the river. Next time I will have my dive gear with me and do a long drift dive and treasure hunt along the bottom of the river.
