Seiverville, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg
Planning a 10 day trip to the area and would like suggestions as to rv campgrounds that would accommodate our 40' Monaco DP. Full hook-ups are a must and the easier to get in and out of for a 70 year old would be great. Leaving Missouri in late Sept/Oct. is our plan.
Thanks all,
Jim

We live near Seiverville and drive by the Achors Away campground regularly, it is definately very nice campground right on Douglas lake with great views of the Smokey Mountains.
Unfortunately it is probably ~10 miles away from Seiverville and fighting the daily traffic to get to Seiverville, Gatlinburg, or the Smoky Mountain NP would be trying at best. Doable depending on your desire to visit those areas.
There are a number of nice RV parks right in or near Seiverville, all capable of accepting larger RV's. Here's a good resource to find one.

Absolutely no doubt about it, Anchors Down right on Douglas Lake. We have stayed twice up on the upper bluff overlooking the Park and lake. The sites down lower have some of the most magnificent fireplaces.

Anchors Down is the nicest park in the area. It is 20 minutes from Pigeon Forge. You may be better served with River Plantation which is on a main road and would be easier for you if you do any night traveling. It is also pretty close to the trolley, which will take you to most of the tourist areas.

I spent a month last year at Anchor Down, wonderful.......another you might consider is Two Rivers Landing right off the North end of the strip, just off I -40 down behind the "Knife Works" big blue roofed bldg. It is a really nice park right on the French Broad River......and more of a Adult style park........... Two Rivers Landing RV Resort in Sevierville, Tennessee

We just spent a week at Two Rivers and found it to be very nice. River front lots have great views, The park has 55 spaces ( I believe) and about 1/2 are river front. Very well kept, roads and sites are all paved

Just avoid the koa. Their sites are tight obviously they are more concerned about money than comfort.

As was the case with every KOA we've seen. We don't even consider KOA's any more.
We've stayed at both Two Rivers and River Plantation a few times, and they are very good. Would go again, and am looking forward to staying at Anchor Down next trip to Tenn.

River plantation for us, great place and good folks. Large sites. It's a little steep getting into but should be no problem as the road is very wide !!

I'm at Anchors Down right now... site 61... B.E.A.UTIFUL place!!! Will be fighting the traffic I guess tomorrow --- let ya know
ONLY thing I don't get is they are STRICT on the 6person rule?!? My Camper sleeps 10and I'd love to bring a friend with a boat!@? How can they limit these ginormous sites n campers to 6?? Understand to a point - but they charge for extra cars and persons over 4 so why limit me to just 1 family per site!??!
** I was buying items in store and overheard them tell a Grandma they couldn't go visit could the site was at max people?!?!

Pigeon Forge RV park - Pine Mountain
We always stay at Pine Mountain RV Park in Pigeon Forge. Highly recommend it.
Be sure to check out Parrot Mountain. You get to see 100's of colorful parrots close up. Dollywood is great for kids of all ages.
Regards, Jerry

Anchor Down is awesome... we're were there a week last July. Never had issue with traffic until you got into pigeon forge. Gatlinburg can be difficult to get thru especially on the weekends.
