Sequoia and Kings Canyon, 36ft Class A

Sequoia and Kings Canyon, 36ft Class A

We have reservations in Yosemite early July and looking for recommendations in Sequoia and Kings Canyon to camp with our 36 ft Class A and toad after Yosemite.
Also looking at white water rafting if you have any recommendations.
We’ll be with 2 active teen boys if you have any other recommendations
Cheers
Bob

Rafting is available on the Kings river, outside the park. July is late in the season, they might be done for the year. There used to be rafting on the Kaweah as well, been a long time since I looked into it. The only other rafting in So Cal is the Kern River. Lower Kern might have some rafting that time of year.
Staying in SEKI, there are lots of campgrounds in the area but it is pretty late yo schedule one. Look at Princess, for some reason it tends to fill up last. Check site lengths on recreation.gov and look at campsitephotos.com. There some nice spaces at Big Meadow too.
There are private campgrounds outside the park, I am not a fan because they are st lower elevations and hot in the summer.

As far as I know, Azalea Campground would be ok with a big rig --check the website for length limits. Otherwise, I'd stay at Sequoia RV Ranch in Three Rivers. (You do have a toad, right?)

If no toad, don't take your big rig up 198 -- there is a 22 foot limit on that road.

180 into Kings Canyon does not have a length limit.

And with active teens, try to spend a day at Stony Creek -- there is a natural water slide in the canyon. Bring old tennis shoes -- the rock can get very hot.

I love the stony creek area too. The rocks can be super slippery even dry. Last trip there I saw a lady slip and fall on her butt then slide about 6 feet. She had a pretty good raspberry. Be careful.
