Shiloh, NC - anyone been there?

We have an upcoming event in the area near Elizabeth City, NC. I found a listing for a campground in Shiloh, called North River Campground in Shiloh, NC. If you have been or know anything about it please let me know what you think.

Will only be for a couple of days, but have had some experiences before where we felt uncomfortable for even a night!! So many campgrounds, in our neck of the woods, have become trailer parks for some sketchy looking folks. Stopped in one recently in GA that nearly half the sites in the place were obviously relatively permanent residents, with old trailers that were clearly not road worthy. Wish campgrounds would communicate this, I was next to a site that looked like a junk yard in process - crap everywhere, including empty beer and liquor bottles, droppings from the 2 great danes chained up on chains long enough to allow them to reach my rig as I hooked up. Spent one night, only because we came in late and didn't want to drive further. If not the case would have gone back to office for refund and headed on down the road.

Thanks - sorry to vent!

We use RV Park reviews exclusively. Very reliable much more so than the publications. We also call and inquire as to size of site, etc! Elizabeth City is a vary quaint water front town. Try "Groupers" for lunch directly on the waterfront downtown.

did that - turns out it is in Shawboro not Shiloh

I did look at rv reviews and all reviews are very favorable. Will be there in couple of weeks.

clayobx; take it from your tag you are an outerbanks resident - love your neck of the woods, just wish it wasn't too far from home for weekend trips.

Thanks

Trode, used to be our hang out, just moved back to the beach in Fl! Old Fl cracker here. Loved the outer banks if you get to the beach from Elizabeth City check out "Duck".

Its a fairly new campground. Its a bit off the beaten path but when we were there it was clean and well kept. Most sites are around a big lake/pond.
We stayed there last thanksgiving with other family.
