Site Request Not Guaranteed

Why is it that some RV camp sites cannot guarantee a site request even though the reservation is made 4 months in advance. And when you get to the RV camp site, you do not get your request and during your stay those sites you requested were available.

Many inconsiderate people make reservations and then never cancel them since they loose the site deposit and no more. It the parks would up the reservation fee to $50 and not refund if they are not cancelled. If cancelled with adequate notice, the fee would only be $10.

Some may do just because it is easier for the campground staff. Sometimes that site might get occupied by a long-termer, weeks before you arrive. There could be lots of reasons all justifiable.

it's total BS... some use site optimization software to minimize un booked sites. Ok.. I own a business and can somewhat understand, but if you let me pick the site on your website then I should have it when I check in. Or just don't let me pick a specific site (i.e. KOA) and then I won't stay there.

A campground in GA that is named after a famous frozen adult drink charges an extra fee to guarantee the site you chose at booking. Won't be staying there either...

Rant over

site request not guaranteed

Too many of the RV Parks/Resorts have been bought out by the big corporations and customer service has gone down hill. RVing is more popular now than ever so they just don't give a darn. There was a time when RV Parks/Resorts did their best to accommodate our needs/wishes....but no more. The new generation of RVers don't have anything to compare with but us seasoned folks sure do.
