Skyline Drive Campgrounds

We're planning a trip to ride Skyline Drive the 2nd week of October, hoping the foliage cooperates! Looking for opinions on camping in the area for our 35' class A, will have our small trailer with bike. Looking for full hookup but 30 amp should be fine that late in the season. Not looking for a ton of activities, just wanting to find something reasonable with some decent views. Around Luray would be great as we're planning on a day trip to Luray caverns. Thanks in advance!

Our favorite place was always Big Meadow. It's a few mile north of Luray, but still a beautiful drive. Haven't been there for a number of years now, so check on hook ups first.

My children used to pick wild strawberries in the meadow but would occasionally have bears also picking them.

Lots of trails to ride and hike.

No personal experience, but from what I have read, and heard from talking to people who have traveled to see the fall foliage along the Appalachians, is, if you haven't already booked spots to stay, you are probably out of luck for places to stay.

Luray Campgrounds

We haven't stayed in Luray for 6-7 years, but as I recall, both the Luray KOA and the Yogi Bear Jellystone Park campgrounds are nice places. The Jellystone especially is just down the mountain a few miles from Skyline Drive.
