Skyline Drive Virginia Shanandoah NP??
Would like to find a campground in this area, preferably in the mountains with electric at least. If you have stayed in the area let me know!

I've stayed at Outlander's near Luray, VA. It is just a few miles to the north end of Skyline Dr. Campground offers fishing on site. Some interesting side attractions nearby, like underground caverns, wineries, mountain trails, and even a little museum set up by one of the cast from the old "Dukes of Hazard" show. The museum is not so great, but the ice cream shop next door is to die for.

Front Royal, VA is a neat area and right on Skyline Dr. The one place NOT to stay is Skyline Ranch Resort. It may have been a resort, but it is not now. See my review in the campground review section on this site.

Thanks! I like the look of Outlanders from what I am seeing. Was it a nice place, quiet? Reliable electricity?

Clean. Good connections. Upgraded utility posts. Golf cart friendly (if that is your preference). I plan on using them again some time as it is a great base of operations for motorcycle rides in the nearby mountains and valleys.

Correct. No hookups there or at any other Skyline Drive campground.

Thanks,
I am researching the same trip at the moment. I think Outlanders Resort in Luray will be our base camp.

We stayed several times at the Yogi Bear in Luray.
It’s just a few mikes from the Park entrance.
Nice sites, hard to get a site, it always full.
Very popular.
We usually go in May

That looks nice 2Cyber, we will be there for 9-10 nights so full hooks would be worth it.

Misty Mountain Camp Resort, near the north entrance to Blue Ridge Parkway and not far from Charlottesville, is a good option if you're venturing south along Skyline Drive.
While there are no hookups, the campgrounds along Skyline Drive are nice. Lewis Mountain, small and uncrowded, is my favorite & can't be beat for $15 a night.
