We just stayed out Pine Mountain RV Resort without water since we had already winterized. We got the lot that was 20 feet from the bathrooms which are super clean and nice. It is our favorite in Pigeon Forge. Right off the Parkway and over a hill so you don't get any of the noise.

Recommend any campground near Smoky Mountain National Park?
|
How close do you want to be? Last June we stayed 9 days in the park (Elkmont & Smokemont) and 3 nights in between to do laundry and charge up the batteries. We stayed at " Camping in the Smoky's" campground. Very very clean place. Super clean showerhouse, laundry, pool and grounds. Only about 2 miles east from downtown Gatlinburg and on the trolly route. The place has about 70 sites. Here are a few pics.

Check out Up the Creek RV Resort just out of Pigeon Forge. Beautiful, quiet, friendly and convenient.

Is closed. We had a landslide this week that took out a 300 ft section at the top of the pass. The road will be closed for at least a couple of months.

Smokey Mountain Campgrounds
We were there for Thanksgiving and stayed at Riverbend Campground just off the Parkway on the north end of Pigeon Forge.Great spot to camp.Inexpensive and clean.Concrete pads and full hookups including cable T.V. We always stay there about 3 times a year.Have fun.

X2 for Cove Mountain RV Resort! We stayed a week there last year and really enjoyed it. We highly recommend it for the peaceful settings, but there is lots of room for kids to play, ride bikes, swimming pool, and fishing pond.

For everyone's info: We are spending the summer at Baileyton RV Park in Baileyton, Tn. It is approximately a mile and half off I-81 at exit 36. It is a family owned and run park, more for the adult campers(no playground)but lots of families spend time here. There is a driving range for golfer(course just down the road). About an hour or so drive to Pidgeon Forge and other attractions. Lot's of flea markets and easy access to Blue Ridge Pkwy and the Smokies. Great motorcycle riding in the area. Pat and Dick will do what ever they can to make your stay fun. The sites are level and 30 and 50 amp service, fantastic shower house and laundry facilities. I will be back, one of the gems in the camping world as far as I am concerned.

How long will you be there? The DW & I will be passing that way on our way to Atlanta in early September.
Always happy to meet another brother or noble along the way.

If you haven't already, you need to put your review in the campground section of this site for those of us looking for a CG in that area in the future.

We will be pulling out sometime around the 4th or 5th of
Sept. We are either going to the NASCAR race in Richmond, Va or start for Florida with a couple of stops on the way.
