The Grand Strand Sams in Myrtle Beach are looking for places to camp. Due to job constraints and fuel costs, we are normally planning 1/2 tank trips. We have about 18 rigs in the Chapter.

Suggestions?

1/2 tank total (out and back) or 1/2 tank out and 1/2 tank back.

1/2 tank out and 1/2 tank back. With most of our rigs, we won't get past Charleston any other way.

Thank you Bob. I'm normally on the RV Net (Tech) Forum as Generator Jim. Our Sams Chapter has camped all over the "near Myrtle Beach" area and we are looking for something just outside our normal radius of 100/125 miles. Virginia Beach is probaably a little outside our capablilities due to job/fuel cost considerations. Some of our members have to (shudder) 'work'. We are still looking for suggestions.

Jim,
Hmmmm, after your last post we need to set a baseline to define 1/2 tank. My coach carries 100 gallons. This is puny compared to what Bob's coach carries but more than trucks pulling 5vers or trailers. I do not know the mix of your club so these are blind suggestions. We belong to 2 clubs and they are very different from each other. For this post, 100 gallon tank is the baseline for my suggestions.

Concord, NC (171 miles) Fleetwood CG at Lowes Motor Speedway. Hendricks Motor Sports complex. Even if you are not a NASCAR fan this would be exciting. For those who do not believe, buy the 3 lap ride along with a NASCAR driver The driver will take to car to about 160 MPH.

Charleston, SC (95 miles)

Columbia, SC (145 miles) They have a really nice zoo.

Edisto Beach State Park (140 miles) quiet with a beach.

Hilton Head (215 miles) bring $s and spend them, shop, shop and shop.

Santee/Lake Marion area (110 miles) fish, fish and fish some more.

Wilmington, NC (about 85 miles) See the battleship.[/list]I've been to all what I recommend. Let me know if you need more ideas or CG recommendations.
