Southern Oklahoma Needed for a year.

Sold my home in Red River, NM and am having both knees replaced. I hope to be up and on the road by January 1, 2022. My first was done on June 23, 2021. So far so good.

I have a tow vehicle and a travel trailer and my hunting dog and that's it. All else is stored so I'm under no pressure.

I'm needing a RV space at a quiet clean no drunks no fighting (you get what I need at 70 with new knees?) for a year. I've raised my children and enjoy my grand kids but don't want to be ran over by kids and unleased dogs if possible. Just a nice quiet place to re-coop and oversee my build.

I'm looking for a piece of land to buy and build a barn-do and will move to it at the end of the year so I will honor any year long agreement I make with the park. Don't expect to be there 100% of the time since family and friends are in DFW and OK City. I will no doubt leave my travel trailer in the park for the full duration whether or not I am using it. I'd expect a 50/50 or 60/40 (USE Not USE) of the trailer.

Any ideas of a good RV park that meets my needs?
South central Oklahoma is my preferred area.
I'm trying to get as close to mid point between DFW and OKC.

Thanks and please only first hand experience in the park you refer?

Name of park, city, and I can do the rest.

Thanks
Doc

After 55 years and me turning 70 33 to 35 below in the winter became far too cold.

I'm looking for a place near a lake for a year to re-coop after my two knees have been replaced.

I do understand your comment though. Not much in Ok but that may really be nice since I'm in the arm pit of Texas; DFW. Heck I was born here. I'd like a place with some real seasons not just cool/cold; warm, hot, hot and humid.

There are long-term sites at Mustang Run in western Oklahoma City, just off I-40. There is definitely road noise, but I always look at that as white noise after a while. There are some children, but I haven’t ever seen them or dogs running wild.

We stayed at Mustang Run in August. Very nice park and convenient to I40 for anything and everything you might need.

You might take a look at Winstar Casino in Thackerville, OK.

Fun Town RV Park at WinStar, 21902 Merle Wolfe Rd, Thackerville, OK 73459

We stay there frequently and have always enjoyed it. Never gambled in the Casino but they have several nice restaurants. Security is top notch as they patrol frequently. Never had an issue with after hour rifraf.

It's about 80 miles north of Dallas and 125 south of OKC.

The OP states he's looking for a place near a lake if that would help with the answers.

Yep, there's probably half a dozen lakes of various sizes near Winstar in both Oklahoma and Texas.

A nice, small privately owned CG right on Lake Texoma (TX/OK border). I believe the owners live on-premise. Know them from the Foretravel Forum:
