Southwest winter spot with Jeep activities

My DH has agreed to spend next winter in the west

We are younger full timers who work on the road from our RV. Our towed is a Jeep that loves to stretch its legs on the easy/medium trails. We would love to find a place to winter that has roomy spaces, FHU, pet friendly, and hopefully full of other jeep lovers who like to go out on the trails. Nothing fancy needed as far as amenities as we tend to work, spend time out hiking, or out with the jeep on the trails.

I found a place called River Lodge Resort at Parker Dam, CA and would love any feedback (have already read reviews but never hurts to see if anyone has anything else to offer)

Any other ideas/suggestions of places to add to the short list ???

If you stay near Parker, check out the The Desert Bar and then take the jeep trail out, not too hard, but fun.

I have never stayed at the River Lodge, but if you go to the Parker area there are dozens of nice places to stay. You may want to check out some of the State and County campgrounds along the river, many of them have full hookups and are in prime locations, and very reasonable price wise. The Parker stretch of the river is a great place in the winter. Lots of offroad area to explore.

Here are two local four wheel clubs you could join:

Sidewinders 4-Wheel Club

Parker Four Wheelers Home Page

They each go from mild to wild. The area has some amazing four wheeling.

By far the most active club in the area is the Havasu 4 Wheelers and they have runs of all levels. The Sidewinders does not have any organized easy runs, if they have any they will be rock buggy runs.

Rancho Sonora in Florence, AZ. Stayed there a while last winter and jeep activities are plentiful. "Jeepers" go out twice a week and do some real off-roading in the desert and mountains. Men Tuesdays - couples Thursdays. Great bunch of folks.

Take a look at the Arizonian, located in Apache Junction, AZ. This place is located very near a great off-roading area with 100+ mile of trails.
