Springfield MASS to Statue of liberty

My son wants to go to the NBA Hall of fame in Springfield Mass.. We will already be at Niagara Falls and Letchworth State Park so why not just swing by Springfield on our way to The Statue of Liberty
Anyone know a good route from Springfield to a campground near the Liberty? Driving a 35ft class A gasser if that matters. Also it will be mid june.
I did a search and found a route and several campgrounds but we were looking for your positive experiences.

Thanks in advance

Closest (and I mean so close you can see her) to the Statue of Liberty is Liberty Harbor RV Park in New Jersey. It isn't much, but it has all you'll need.

I did find that park Im thinking that will be our choice seeing as it is so close to all the main attractions.

Now, about my route option

It's the General Pulaski Skyway. It's old. It's high off the ground. It's falling to pieces. Last time I got routed into New York, that's the way I came in. I was dodging big pieces of concrete in the roadway that was falling off the crumbling structure. It's on US Route 1/9.
